Floor Graphics

Tough floor graphics for commercial and retail use, including wayfinding arrows, promotional displays, safety zone markings, branded decals, and anti-slip vinyl that holds up to real foot traffic.

Floors are the most ignored advertising surface in most buildings. Walls get attention. Windows get dressed up. But the floor? Nothing. Vinyl floor graphics Auckland businesses are waking up to change that equation entirely, turning dead space into wayfinding tools, promo spots, and brand touchpoints that people literally walk over. Our Auckland vinyl signage specialists produce custom floor signage Auckland companies across Greater Auckland count on for applications that cop serious foot traffic and still look sharp.

What are Floor Graphics?

Floor graphics work nothing like wall signage. They sit right in the walking path, so people can't avoid them. Customers walk directly over your messaging, which creates a kind of engagement that a poster on the wall simply won't match. Adhesive floor decals Auckland businesses use can guide customers through a space, spotlight promotional zones, lock in brand identity at ground level, and sort out tricky wayfinding problems. And the materials matter. Durable floor graphics Auckland conditions throw at them need to handle trolleys, constant foot traffic, and regular mopping without falling apart. When you combine floor vinyl with branded spot vinyl elements and window displays, you've basically covered every surface in the building.

We handle wayfinding and directional signage, promotional floor displays, safety and hazard markings, branded floor elements, point-of-sale floor graphics, event and exhibition flooring, and anti-slip floor applications. If you also need bespoke vinyl sign solutions, we bundle those in too. We produce floor graphics in materials rated for commercial foot traffic, industrial environments, and temporary event use, each with the right durability and slip resistance for the job.

Auckland businesses from Kumeu retailers to Silverdale warehouses rely on Falcon Signs for floor graphics that survive daily punishment while actually delivering brand impact and wayfinding that works.

When You Need Us

When You Need Floor Graphics

1

Retail Wayfinding

Big retail floors confuse people. Floor arrows and department markers guide shoppers through sections, highlight promo zones, and point them toward checkouts without them even thinking about it.

2

Promotional Floor Displays

Product launches and sales campaigns get more eyeballs when the graphics are in a high-traffic walkway. Everyone walking through sees it. No exceptions.

3

Warehouse Safety Markings

Pedestrian walkways separated from forklift lanes. Hazard zones flagged exactly where the risk is. Fire equipment spots, first aid, emergency exits. Ground level is where this stuff needs to be.

4

Social Distancing Guidance

Queue spacing and flow management done through floor decals. Customers follow them almost instinctively, which keeps things orderly in busy service areas.

5

Event and Exhibition Branding

Trade shows and exhibitions use floor graphics for booth branding and sponsor visibility. They go down fast, look great for the event, and come off clean afterward.

6

Healthcare Facility Wayfinding

Hospitals are confusing buildings, especially for stressed patients. Colour-coded floor paths (follow the blue line to radiology, green to pharmacy) work better than wall signs in these situations.

7

Sports and Fitness Branding

Gyms and sports centres brand their floors for zone identification and workout areas. It adds energy to the space and helps members find what they need.

8

Worn Floor Graphics Replacement

Old graphics get scuffed, faded, or start peeling. That looks worse than no graphics at all. We strip and replace so the space looks right again.

9

Educational Facility Navigation

Schools and universities with sprawling campuses benefit from floor-level wayfinding, especially during orientation when nobody knows where anything is.

10

Airport and Transport Hubs

High-traffic transport facilities lean on floor graphics for directional guidance and queue management. The volume of people makes ground-level signage almost mandatory.

Our Process

Our Floor Graphics Process

01

Floor Assessment

We check your actual floor first. Material type, surface condition, texture, and anything that might affect how well vinyl sticks and how long it lasts.

02

Requirements Analysis

What are you trying to achieve? Wayfinding, promotion, safety markings, branding? The answer shapes everything from design direction to which vinyl we spec.

03

Design Development

Floor graphics get viewed from above while people are walking. That changes the design rules completely. We account for viewing angles, traffic flow, and the quirks of floor-level visibility.

04

Material Specification

Not all floor vinyl is the same. We match durability, slip rating, and adhesive strength to your floor type and how much traffic it sees. A carpet showroom hallway and a supermarket entrance need very different specs.

05

Design Approval

You see the final designs before we produce anything. We confirm sizing, positioning, and content work for your specific floor layout.

06

Production

Approved designs go into production on floor-grade materials with the right lamination for wear resistance and slip safety.

07

Professional Installation

Our team handles application with proper surface prep and technique. Shortcuts at this stage mean graphics that peel, so we don't take them.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Falcon Signs for Floor Graphics?

Unavoidable Visibility

People might miss a poster on the wall. They won't miss something directly under their feet. Floor graphics capture attention through sheer positioning.

Durable Construction

Floor-grade vinyl with the right lamination stands up to foot traffic, trolley wheels, and regular cleaning without curling or going cloudy.

Slip-Resistant Options

Anti-slip lamination means your floor graphics won't create hazards. The safety-rated materials we use satisfy workplace requirements for floor applications.

Wayfinding Function

Arrows and paths on the floor guide people intuitively. Most customers follow floor wayfinding without consciously registering they're doing it.

Promotional Impact

A floor graphic in a high-traffic walkway gets seen by every single person who passes through. Hard to argue with that kind of exposure.

Removable Installation

When campaigns end or guidance changes, these come off without wrecking your floor. Provided they were installed properly in the first place, of course.

Frequently Asked Questions - Floor Graphics

Smooth, sealed surfaces work best. That includes polished concrete, sealed concrete, vinyl flooring (sheet or tile), laminate, ceramic tiles, porcelain, and epoxy-coated floors. Unsealed or porous concrete won't hold vinyl well. Same goes for natural stone with heavy texture, rubber flooring, and carpet. The surface needs to be clean, dry, and free from wax buildup, otherwise adhesion suffers badly.

We use textured overlaminate on all floor graphics. The options range from matte textured laminate (light texture, fine for moderate foot traffic) through sand-textured laminate (medium grip, suits most commercial spaces) up to heavy-duty anti-slip laminate with aggressive texture for industrial or wet areas. Which one you need depends on the traffic, the location, and how slippery the underlying floor already is.

They can, yes. Digitally printed floor graphics handle full-colour photos, illustrations, gradients, and complex artwork. The print quality is genuinely sharp on modern wide-format machines. One thing to keep in mind though: people view floor graphics from above while walking, so designs need to account for that angle. What looks great on a screen doesn't always translate to a floor.

Sweep or vacuum first to get rid of loose debris. Then mop with a cleaner suited to your floor type. Stay away from wax-based cleaners because wax kills adhesion. The floor must be bone dry before anything goes down. We usually recommend cleaning the day before installation so there's zero residual moisture. Sounds fussy, but it makes a genuine difference to how long the graphic lasts.

Outdoor floor applications need specialised materials rated for exterior conditions. Standard indoor floor vinyl breaks down fast from UV and weather. Outdoor-rated options use UV-stable vinyl with stronger adhesive and tougher laminate. We've done footpath graphics, outdoor event flooring, and car park markings. Just be aware that surface texture and drainage patterns affect outdoor adhesion more than most people expect.

Start by lifting a corner and pulling slowly at a low angle, close to the floor surface. A heat gun or even a hair dryer softens the adhesive and makes it easier. The key is to remove them before they get too old, because aged adhesive turns stubborn. If there's residue left behind, isopropyl alcohol or a citrus-based remover usually sorts it out. Just make sure whatever you use is safe for your particular floor.

It depends on how far away people are and how fast they're moving. Graphics at queue spots where people stand still can be smaller. But if someone's supposed to read text while walking past, you want minimum 50mm letter height and ideally bigger. Wayfinding arrows? Go 300mm or larger. We size everything to suit the actual traffic patterns and viewing conditions of your space.
