Custom Vinyl Signs

Vinyl signs built to your exact specs. When standard sizes, shapes, or colours don't fit what you need, we make it from scratch.

Sometimes the standard sign is the wrong size, the wrong colour, or the wrong shape for the space. That's where custom vinyl signs come in. Our Auckland vinyl signage specialists build signs from scratch to your exact specs, and businesses across Auckland have been coming to us for years when catalogue products fall short of what they actually need.

What are Custom Vinyl Signs?

Custom means we solve the problem standard products can't. Non-standard dimensions for a tricky space. Brand colours matched to Pantone specs instead of 'close enough.' Shapes that follow your logo rather than forcing it into a rectangle. From storefront displays to unique vinyl lettering setups, we work with you from concept through to the finished sign on your wall.

Our custom vinyl work covers bespoke sizes and shapes, Pantone colour matching, original design development, specialty material selection, complex multi-layer builds, printed and contour-cut graphics, and installation. We produce custom signs ranging from small branded decal elements through to large-scale displays, each built to your exact brief.

Auckland businesses from West Auckland retailers to Henderson industrial outfits trust Falcon Signs for custom vinyl signs because we actually solve signage problems that standard products can't.

When You Need Us

When You Need Custom Vinyl Signs

1

Non-Standard Sizing

Your space needs a sign that's 450mm x 1200mm and nobody makes that off the shelf. We do.

2

Unique Shape Requirements

Your logo or design concept needs a specific outline, not a rectangle. Custom cutting handles shapes standard formats can't.

3

Exact Brand Colour Matching

Brand guidelines say Pantone 286 C. Not 'a blue that's sort of close.' We match to the spec.

4

Tricky Installation Spots

Curved walls, irregular surfaces, awkward mounting situations. The sign has to be designed for the specific conditions.

5

Multi-Layer Complex Designs

Designs with multiple colours, layered vinyl, or printed graphics contour-cut to complex shapes go beyond what basic sign shops handle.

6

Campaign and Promotional Signage

Marketing campaigns needing consistent custom signage across different locations and formats.

7

Replacing Damaged Originals

Existing custom signs that have faded or been damaged and need reproducing accurately.

8

New Business Launch

Starting up and need a full signage package designed around your brand and your actual premises. Not a template.

9

Multi-Site Consistency

Multiple locations all needing identical signs. Every site matches, every replacement matches the originals.

10

Exhibition and Event Signage

Trade show graphics sized for your specific booth layout, not standard trade show dimensions that don't quite work.

Our Process

Our Custom Vinyl Signs Process

01

Requirements Discussion

We start by understanding what the sign needs to do, where it's going, and what constraints we're working with. This conversation drives everything from material choice to design direction.

02

Design Development

We develop artwork from your brief or refine files you supply. You see proofs before anything gets made. No surprises.

03

Material Specification

Where the sign goes determines what it's made from. Indoor, outdoor, permanent, temporary, flat surface, curved wall. Each changes what vinyl and adhesive make sense.

04

Colour Matching

For brand-critical work, we match to Pantone references, physical samples, or existing materials. Your brand colour has to be your brand colour. Across every sign.

05

Production

Precision cutting and printing with quality checks throughout. Not just at the end.

06

Quality Inspection

Every custom sign gets checked against your specs before it leaves our workshop. Sizing, colours, edge quality, overall appearance.

07

Installation or Delivery

We install at your Auckland location or deliver ready for self-installation with mounting hardware and instructions.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Falcon Signs for Custom Vinyl Signs?

No Compromises

Your signs match what you actually need. Not the closest standard option that kind of works.

Brand Accuracy

Colour matching and design reproduction that aligns with your existing brand materials. Not an approximation.

Problem-Solving Mindset

We treat custom projects as problems to solve. Weird space? Unusual surface? There's a way to make it work.

Proper Materials

Custom doesn't mean compromised. We use vinyl and adhesives appropriate for your specific application and environment.

Looks Intentional

There's a difference between a sign that was designed for a space and one that was shoehorned in. Custom production means the former.

Reorder Anytime

We keep your specs on file. Need replacements or signs for a new location? Exact duplicates, no re-setup.

Frequently Asked Questions - Custom Vinyl Signs

Custom means we build it to your brief. Non-standard dimensions, specific shapes, exact Pantone colours, multi-layer constructions, specialty materials. Basically anything you can't pull off a shelf or order from a catalogue in the size and colour you need.

Outdoor signs get exterior-grade vinyl with UV inhibitors and weather-resistant adhesive. For anything that needs to last years outside, we go with cast vinyl for its durability and colour stability. Add a protective laminate over the top and you've extended the lifespan considerably.

Absolutely. Multi-colour cut vinyl uses separate colour layers aligned precisely. Printed vinyl handles unlimited colours including gradients and photographic images. Layered builds create depth and dimension that single-layer signs can't achieve. We do quite a lot of this.

Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF with outlined fonts) are ideal because they scale cleanly and give us precise cutting paths. For printed graphics, high-resolution rasters at 300dpi minimum at final size. Got a lower-quality logo? We can vectorise it. Not ideal, but we make it work.

Depends on the sign and the surface. Direct application for flat walls, panel mounting for signs that need to be portable or replaceable, standoff mounting for a dimensional look, frame mounting for interchangeable graphics. We recommend based on your specific situation.

Gloss gives you vibrant colours with shine but can create glare and shows fingerprints. Matte reduces reflections, hides minor surface imperfections, and has a more understated look. Satin sits in the middle and honestly works well for most business signage. We'll recommend based on where the sign's going and how it'll be lit.

We can. We vectorise logos, match colours, and reproduce designs from photos, physical samples, or damaged originals. Having original artwork files or Pantone references speeds things up and improves accuracy, but we've successfully recreated signs from nothing more than a phone photo plenty of times.
