Posters

Custom poster design and large format printing for events, promotions, and business marketing. Designed and printed under one roof in Auckland.

Posters still work. In a world where everyone's staring at their phone, a well-designed physical poster in a shop window or on an exhibition stand has genuine pulling power. Our Auckland sign design studio handles poster design and printing under one roof, which means what you approve on screen is what you get on paper. No translation problems between designer and printer.

What are Posters?

A poster has seconds to work. Maybe three. The visual needs to be bold enough to catch attention, the message clear enough to register quickly, and the typography readable from however far away people are standing. Your branding needs to be present without drowning out the actual message. Balancing all of that is what our Auckland graphic design team does well.

Our poster design service covers:

  • Event and promotional posters
  • Retail point-of-sale displays
  • Large format posters and banners
  • Indoor and outdoor applications

With in-house large format digital printing and durable PVC banner options, we control the whole process from initial concept through final print. Your posters come out looking exactly as intended.

Auckland businesses from retail shops to event organisers come to Falcon Signs for poster design that gets results and print quality that holds up.

When You Need Us

When You Need Posters

1

Event Promotion

Concerts, exhibitions, markets, conferences. Eye-catching event posters placed around Auckland build awareness and get people through the door. Still one of the most cost-effective ways to promote an event locally.

2

Retail Sales and Promotions

Seasonal sales, special offers, new product launches. A well-designed poster at point of purchase catches the eye and influences buying decisions. We've seen shops double their promotion uptake just by upgrading from handwritten signs.

3

Restaurant and Hospitality

Menu specials, upcoming events, seasonal offerings. Posters on the wall that look good and drive additional purchases. Better than a chalkboard nobody can read from three metres away.

4

Real Estate Marketing

Property listings, open home announcements, development launches. Large format posters that showcase properties and pull in potential buyers.

5

Educational Institutions

Schools, universities, training providers. Posters that promote courses, events, and campus information. The design quality reflects on the institution, so it matters.

6

Health and Wellness

Medical practices, gyms, wellness centres. Informational and promotional posters for waiting areas and reception spaces. Clear, clean, easy to absorb at a glance.

7

Trade Shows and Exhibitions

Stand-out poster displays at events that help exhibitors attract attention in crowded halls. The difference between people stopping at your stand or walking straight past.

8

Community Organisations

Charities, clubs, community groups. Poster promotion for fundraisers, membership drives, awareness campaigns. Maximum impact when budgets are tight.

9

Corporate Communications

Internal comms, safety messaging, motivational content. Posters that reinforce company culture and keep important information visible where people actually see it.

10

Entertainment and Nightlife

Clubs, theatres, entertainment venues. Poster campaigns that promote upcoming shows and create buzz. There's a reason gig posters have been a thing for decades.

Our Process

Our Posters Process

01

Project Brief

We start by understanding what the poster needs to achieve. Who's the audience? Where will it be displayed? How far away will people be standing? What action do you want them to take? Those answers shape everything.

02

Concept Development

Our designers develop initial concepts exploring different creative directions. Each one considers visual hierarchy, readability at the intended viewing distance, and how it'll actually look printed, not just on screen.

03

Design Refinement

Based on your feedback, we refine the chosen direction. Typography, imagery, colour balance, composition. Tweaked and adjusted until it all works together.

04

Production Preparation

Final artwork prepared with correct colour profiles, resolution, bleed, and trim specs. Because we print in-house, we know exactly how to set files up for the specific process. No guesswork.

05

Material Selection

Different jobs need different materials. We advise on paper weights, substrates, and finishes based on where it's going, whether it's indoor or outdoor, and how long it needs to last.

06

Printing and Finishing

Printed on our large format gear with careful colour management. Finishing options include lamination, mounting, and framing. Whatever the presentation calls for.

07

Quality Check and Delivery

Every poster inspected for colour accuracy, print quality, and finish before it leaves. Delivered to your Auckland location ready for display.

Frequently Asked Questions - Posters

Everything from A4 through to A0 and custom dimensions beyond that. Large format capabilities extend to banner-sized prints for major displays and exhibition graphics. Tell us the size and we'll tell you if we can do it. Spoiler: we usually can.

For print-ready files: PDF, AI, EPS, and high-resolution TIFF or PSD. Files should include proper bleed and be set to CMYK colour mode. Don't have print-ready files? Not a problem. We design posters too, so just bring us whatever reference materials you've got.

Coated and uncoated papers in various weights. Synthetic waterproof materials for outdoor use. Self-adhesive vinyl for mounting directly to surfaces. Canvas for premium presentations. We recommend based on where it's going and how long it needs to survive.

That's the idea. We work with your brand guidelines, logos, and colour specifications to create posters that sit naturally alongside your other materials. Consistency across touchpoints matters for recognition.

Gloss, satin, and matte lamination for protection and presentation. Mounting to foam board or rigid substrates for self-supporting displays. Framing for permanent installations. Outdoor posters can be finished for weather resistance. Depends what you need.

Store flat, cool, dry, away from direct sunlight. That prevents fading and curling. Rolled posters go in a tube with a larger diameter to avoid crease marks. Laminated ones wipe clean with a damp cloth. Unlaminated prints, handle by the edges only.

At least 150 DPI at final print size for large format posters people view from a distance. Up close viewing needs 300 DPI. We assess your images during the design process and let you know if higher resolution alternatives are needed. No point printing a blurry poster.
